Housewright Company is a 40-year-old real estate investment and management company that was founded by J. Tipton Housewright. It specializes in smaller, high quality retail and office properties.

Architecture is Tip’s primary profession. He is president of OMNIPLAN Architects, a 70-person firm based in Dallas, Texas. In addition to these responsibilities, he manages the real estate properties of Housewright Company with his brother, Ed. Tip looks forward to blending his interests in architecture and real estate in the coming years.
Tip joined OMNIPLAN Architects more than 30 years ago. In addition to his role as president of the firm, Tip leads many of the firm’s projects including retail and mixed-use development, corporate office, contemporary places for worship and higher education buildings. He brings to each project a passion for innovative, cost-effective solutions that advance his client’s mission. In recent years, his work has been focused on creating dynamic districts and neighborhoods that utilize density, urban form and a mix of uses.
Tip earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas, and following that, a Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. He has served as President of the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture, President of the Dallas Center for Architecture and has had various committee assignments with the Texas Society of Architects. He formerly served as an active Board member and member of the Executive Committee at the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Society. Tip has served as President of the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District and is active in other community initiatives in his community, including the Board of the Questcare Community Clinic. He currently represents District 10 on the City of Dallas Planning and Zoning Commission.
In 2010, Tip was recognized as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects for his community service and leadership.
Ed Housewright
Before joining Housewright Company, Ed spent more than 25 years as an award-winning reporter for the Dallas Morning News. He covered a myriad of subjects, such as government, politics, healthcare, education, religion and sports. He has written six books, including a biography of legendary Texas high school football coach G.A. Moore, and three books on the history of the Dallas Cowboys.
Besides writing books, Ed operates Single Dad House, a website that offers parenting tips and insights. He is an occasional guest on Huffington Post Live discussions on parenting issues. He brings the same passion to real estate management that he brings to writing and media commentary.
